Methodology - How
Tri Tuns has a more effective approach than traditional change management. The difference? Our approach works.
How do we do what we do?

Face it, when it comes to behavior, each of us is our own boss. Despite how much we might like to, we can't force other people to act in a certain way.

What we can do is engage people in a way that they change their own behavior. We can also show them how they can help each other. And we can create an environment that encourages and supports them in doing so.

Most traditional projects approach change efforts like marketing or advertising. They try to sell people on the idea of “what's in it for me” and then they hope that people will do what they want. History has shown us that this approach is useless. People don’t buy it and they don’t change because of it.

Tri Tuns, LLC sees things differently.
Our approach is similar to that used by a counselor or coach. We engage people in a way that they learn, grow and change themselves. And we listen too. Your people teach us about the things that are outside of their control that block them from using your systems. We then remove these barriers. Sounds a bit better than just giving a sales pitch, eh?

Why does our approach work? Because it is based on advanced studies and practice in the fields of Psychology, Organization Development (OD) and Information Systems (IS). Our approach:
  • Is based on advanced studies in behavioral science
  • Looks at the big picture – we look at all the things in your organization that affect how your people behave
  • Directly involves your people – we help them learn and change
  • Is flexible to help you – regardless of your situation or where you are in your implementation effort
And don't worry; we won't try to "move in". Unlike most consulting companies that get a new client and then try to leech on and bleed you dry, we understand that we are most effective when you have time between our projects to try out new behaviors. That is why we structure our projects so that we do a bit of work up front and then come back for periodic check-ins or when truly needed. Our services are designed to be effective in addressing small, isolated issues or they can be combined to create a comprehensive program that helps you get the most out of your systems over the long term.

When should you call us? Right now! The sooner you engage us, the better. Still, it is never too late.

If you are just starting to plan your IT project, have a project currently underway, or are trying get people to use a live system, we can help.

Oh, and if you are going through a major business change that affects how your people behave – like reorganizations, mergers, downsizing, outsourcing, or regulatory changes (can you say SOX?), we can make things easier there too.
Our approach is extremely flexible so that we can best meet your needs given your schedule and budget.
  • Early in your project we help you identify your organizational and user behavior challenges and we plan for how to best address them.
  • During development
    • We engage your people so they immediately begin changing behavior and you start getting results before the system is even live.
    • We help your project team work better with each other and with your user community.
  • Once the system is live we help drive initial adoption, improve low adoption and sustain effective adoption over the long term.
